Magnetic Stir Plate: A DIY Project

Save some money by making your own simple magnetic stir plate from parts you may already have around your home.  This piece of home brewing equipment is a nice addition to home brewers of all skill levels. I should have done this sooner!

  1. Hi Larry I’ve been doing extract-brewing for about 25 years and I’m going to make the leap to all-grain finally after watching your videos which are awesome. Was wondering if you would advise someone to go with a Grainfather or a Robo-Brew(which I’m leaning towards) if a guy is trying to save space and keep it simple or if I should build my own?Thank you for any help and so glad to have found your youtube channel and have been sending all my friends there! Thanks again Larry.

    1. If I had to do it again, I’d go Robobrew. It’s cheaper, comes with a nice false bottom (that I now use in my GF) to filter out hops/trub, and comes with an immersion chiller (which I prefer) instead of a counterflow chiller.
